A: Our Gentlemen’s Facial, which is customized to your skins individual needs, will take care of this condition caused by over-exposure to the summer sun. The facial consists of a custom blended deep pore cleansing, exfoliation and massage of the face, neck and shoulders followed by a therapeutic mask and serum designed to correct specific problems. A: We can give him an exfoliating Sea Salt hand scrub which will remove the rough and dead skin. Then we follow up with a deep penetrating clay mask and a hydrating hand massage to lock in the moisture. His hands will be soft and supple again!

A: Yes and no, depending on the type of massage you receive. Our Swedish massage provides stress relief, relaxation and soothes sore muscles. Our Deep Tissue massage is used on knotted muscle tone and is used to help break up adhesions that are a result of injury and to help with range of motion. Improvement of blood circulation and removal of toxins in the body are also very important parts of massage. The benefits are endless!

A: Your haircut will include a therapeutic shampoo and conditioning treatment and a relaxing scalp massage. The Black Tie uses only the finest products that leave your hair and scalp tingling and promote healthier hair growth. These products and more can also be purchased for use in your home.

Q: What is a pedicure?
A: Our Black Tie Pedicure will have you completely relaxed as you sit back in our comfortable leather whirlpool spa chair while your feet are being soaked and softened and given special attention to exfoliate any rough areas along with complete toenail cleaning and shaping. The pedicure ends with a rejuvenating foot and leg mask and massage.

Q: What is Microdermabrasion?
A: Microdermabrasion, also known as Skin Resurfacing, can reduce the effects of aging on our skin. Years of sun exposure and the aging process take their toll on the skin, creating wrinkles and changes in texture and color. Microdermabrasion removes the topmost layer of skin leaving it more supple and vibrant. It also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the surface of the skin resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance. This treatment is non-invasive, pain-free and requires no down time after treatment.

Q: Is waxing as painful as I’ve heard?
A: No, it doesn’t have to be. At The Black Tie Spa, we us a natural soy based botanical formula that does not contain any wax, sugar or honey. As a result the formula does not dry or stick to the skin, so it doesn’t pull or cause painful irritation.

Q: My teenage son has a problem with acne. Is there anything that you can do to help him?
A: We offer a personalized acne facial that will help treat acne, clogged pores and blackheads. This would be followed by an at home program using our BioElements products that can be tailored to treat your son’s skins individual needs.

Q: My husband is a little hesitant about walking into a spa. Do you think he will be comfortable there?
A: Yes! The Black Tie Spa was created just for men. Men enjoy the pampering and grooming care just as much as women and the Black Tie gives them a place of their own to go to . We offer a masculine environment where men feel comfortable. The waiting area consists of a wood paneled library with a large plasma TV that is tuned into the latest sports game, which opens into our barber area with real leather barber chairs.
